God leading His people out of bondage in Egypt and into freedom provides the ultimate image for liberation and redemption in the Old Testament. It begins in darkness and gloom with an enslaved people, but finishes with God coming down in glory to dwell in the midst of a redeemed people.
This great act of God has provided hope for oppressed people throughout history. God wants us to escape from our “Egypt” of sin so that we can “come out” into the open to serve and worship Him—and get to the “Promised Land” of eternal life with Him in heaven. This true liberation comes from Christ. "All aboard Christ's Freedom Train".
