5.1.1 MY MOST PRIZED POSSESSION: Children draw the five most valuable possessions. At a given time, each tells what they have. Ask them what would be hard to give away.
5.1.2 HOSANNA GAME: Divide into 3 teams. Each team will be given one of the following 3 recitations: "Hosanna to the Son of David"; "Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!" and "Hosanna in the highest heaven!" Each team will raise their hands over their head and say their own 'verse' and then the next will say their's in order getting slightly louder until eventually the teams say their part the loudest.
5.1.3 Have a fair day - prepare in advance teams of children rotate games - everyone is invited.
5.1.4 JAR RELAY: Divide the children into teams. Have small jars for the younger children and tablespoons or desert spoons for the older ones. The team members can use any means to get water from one place to another. Any rules apply, they may want a designated filler - or all go at once. Give them time before to come up with a strategy, just like the wise girls who filled their lamp and had oil spare.
5.1.5 PASS THE CUPs: Before Jesus died, he had a meal with his friends called the Last Supper. Jesus passed a cup around. Have the children sit in a circle. Give each a cup. Place a ping pong under one of the cups. Then choose a child to sit in the center of the circle, blindfolded, to be the Guesser. Have the rest of the children pass the cups around the circle. When the music stops the Guesser removes the blindfold and take three guesses at who has the cup. If the Guesser finds the cup, he or she trades places with that child. If not, the Guesser remains in place for another round of play. If it is too hard put 2 ping pongs in play.
