Example Curriculum Plan

Not this example is based on the following principles
  1. Alternate time between old and new testament so that the promise of Jesus is equally mixed with the experience of Jesus.
  2. The plan averages 40 Lessons made up of 4 x 10 week school terms. The plan does not make up to the 40 lessons which allows for separate lessons to be added eg Christmas (play), Easter, Mother's Day, Father's Day etc. Holiday programs differ (example movie, fair) giving teachers the opportunity to sit in church.
  3. The last lesson is a New Testament lesson (Christmas). Therefore, the first lesson the following year is the Old Testament Lesson.
  4. Identify when your last Christmas and Easter lesson should finish. Then count back the number of lessons for these. Once you have done this you know when to finish the lesson of the last course. For example you may only have 4 lessons for Easter and you have 7 lessons on the course before this but you can only fit in 10 lessons before the last day of Easter. Therefore only do 6 lessons, the 4 Easter lessons, then return to the last lesson of the previous course in the first week of the following term.
  5. Though this is a six year plan, the Christmas and Easter courses are undertaken several times. Each of these have a variety of stories and craft etc.
